A link between self-denial and charity

A spiritual tool

Fasting Traditions

Tradition suggests bread and water on Wednesday and/or Friday fasts to create shared disciplines and prayer intentions. These are known fast days to prepare before the Thursday Eucharist and to give thanks after. This
Communal action with Adoration creates a fulfilling fasting experience.

Traditional Recipes

Known recipes to participate in the Wednesday and Friday fasts. Sustainable size and content for daily activities.

Traditional Ingredients

You can choose from pure white flour, fruit & nut Einkorn wheat, and pure Einkorn wheat flour.
Einkorn wheat is the “staff of life” grain, dating back to the beginning of time. It contains lower gluten levels, making it easier to digest and easier for nutrients to be absorbed.

Traditional Practices

Each bread is a little over one pound to provide a sustainable means during the fast day. With plenty of water and a fasting bread, one can fulfill the fast.
